South Roxana, IL - est. 1994 Current Weather Conditions at the Field The Midwest Air Wing R/C Club was established in 1994 and is for people interested in building, finishing, and flying radio-controlled (R/C) model aircraft of any size either gas or glow. Midwest Air Wing members' predominant interest is flying R/C airplanes and scale aerobatics. The club sponsors and promotes several AMA sanctioned flying events throughout the year that are open to R/C pilots. The flying field is owned by the club and contains a well-manicured 700 x 450 feet grass runway, unobstructed flying area, protected pilots area, large pit area, large spectator pavilion and 400 feet of protected parking. This is a premier site in the St. Louis metro-northeast area for flying R/C airplanes of any category or class, both gas or glow. If you are interested or want to see more there are programs available to get you started with an R/C instructor pilot. We welcome new members and will help anyone get started in R/C flying. The club is located approximately 15 miles northeast of downtown St. Louis. Club meetings are held at the club field at 7:00 PM on the first Thursday of May, July, and September. During the winter months, club meetings are held at Madison Mutual Insurance Company employee break room at 7:00 PM on the first Thursday of November, January, and March.
